Celebrating With A Yummy Sauvignon Blanc
April 20, 2009

Last night my hunny and I finally indulged in our latest gorgeous accessory, the wine refrigerator. And naturally, we selected some new wine purchases to go with our beautiful new toy.
We had been looking at wine refrigerators for some time, however could not come across one that wasn’t too big or too small and included two chambers, one for our whites and one for our reds. The ones we did like were never in stock, so the hunt continued until we finally came across one we loved and jumped on it!
And so to celebrate, we began with a bottle of Nobilo, a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc that is absolutely wonderful. I love New Zealand sauv blancs, they have that crisp, citrus style I love about a sauvignon blanc; and this one is marvelous (as is the price at only $11).

We went through this bottle rather quickly over dinner, and decided to follow with some dessert. Now, I do have a new eiswien I have been meaning to try, but this time we opted for a rose we picked up for a fun taste.
Now, when I think of rose one of my favorites comes to mind- the Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc, if you haven’t tried it go pick it up now you will love it! Yes, it is a fabulously pink bottle and you cannot miss it, but the taste is sure to please!
But this was something different, something fun- and something very sweet. It was perfect for dessert, with a fruity taste dense in strawberries. It was very smooth and soft, and rich in sweet fruity flavor. We picked up the bottle on a whim, just to see how it would be and I have to say we enjoyed ourselves.

The bottle is what caught our eye this time as well, and with a further glance at the label we were intrigued and delighted to give it a taste.
We even brought out the wine glasses we were given as a beautiful gift for Christmas- and they are lovely! Just the thing to also celebrate our new wine refrigerator. Am looking forward to many more, I’ll let you know when we open our first red from the fridge. A Burgundy maybe? We shall see.
A Chic And Coral Hidden Treasure
April 19, 2009

Hidden treasure never looked so fabulous- and for something as common as this, I love when a designer has fun and adds a bit of luxury into the most simple items we use. Suddenly getting ready in the morning has a much more glamorous feel, and I know I am excited to be using these lovelies.
And possibly the best part, beyond their gorgeous appearance and feel, is the price and location of these gems… Target! They are only 19.99, and are a limited edition so be sure to pick them up while you can. This is an incredible deal for brushes of any kind, let alone fabulously designed ones such as these. It is definitely a steal I had to act quickly on myself, and wanted you to be aware of them as well.

The collection comes from Sonia Kashuk and is called the “hidden treasure” limited edition brush set, the name is perfect. It includes six beautiful brushes and a travel case to match. All the brushes are very soft against the face and very nice, especially for the price. Love it!
Playing with my make up in the morning has a whole new look and feel; fabulous brushes? Can’t go wrong there, a beautiful and stylish move from Sonia Kashuk for Target.

Don’t You Just Love It When This Happens?
April 16, 2009

Some days I chose my shoes before I decide on an outfit, and revolve the clothes to my shoes… this is one of those days. But I decided to keep the outfit simple, and make it about the accessories- and wouldn’t you know, I find a gorgeous Ferragamo bracelet I haven’t worn in ages that exactly matches my shoes?
Love it.

My fiance had given me this bracelet some time ago as a gift, though we discovered very quickly that wearing it was more than a style statement, it was also a weapon. Those corners seemed to always be casually hitting him while I was none the wiser. So now I only wear it occasionally, and with caution!
But I never thought to match them with my Vince Camuto heels. It was a delight to discover their beautiful matching styles. I love it when that happens, don’t you?
I kept the outfit simple- some beige/khaki shorts and a loose black top; very casual chic for an afternoon of running around (but still looking and feeling fabulous). Neutral shades are beautiful, and can especially be dressed up with accessories that match!

Oh Violet, Maternity- Really? Really??
April 15, 2009

I do love the color violet, and with my nails still in that gorgeous shade- maybe this dress and I were meant to be. I certainly was not expecting to discover it in this section! Maternity? Really? Yes, srlsy!
I’ll admit to occasionally finding a fun accessory or garment within the children’s section- they have some fashionable items these days; but when I was in Target and this dress caught my eye, I was all turned around. It was in the maternity section, and was intended for that in the design.

But it’s so cute! and has pockets and a bow, I had to try it on. And it is so adorable- soft as can be and comfortable (as would hopefully be expected), that it was a quick decision to buy it.
Also, it made me think of the times my old roommate, Savina, and I would shock the world with our eating abilities… and wear a comfortable empire waist dress for ease. As she would say, “you can eat whatever you want in this dress.” lol.

In all honesty I think this is an adorable dress and I am enjoying it now, just the way it is. No, I’m not pregnant- but it’s nice to know the style is out there. I’ll still enjoy it now regardless.
The stockings were a fun purchase and something I haven’t worn in a while- so I thought since I was already going out wearing maternity clothes, why not play for a day with the socks?
Someone I once worked with years ago had requested I bring these socks into style.. I don’t know that I would, or that I am going to continue to wear them by any means- but once in a while it certainly is fun! I am enjoying myself today- that’s for sure.
PS As I was walking out the door I grabbed some accessories to wear, don’t you just love it when things match? My favorite LOVEMADDS braclet was the perfect item to complete the look!

Floral Prints: Attack From Spring Part II
April 14, 2009

When I was shopping at forever twenty one last week and found the incredibly bright and bold spring floral dress- it wasn’t the only one I found. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so I do what I always do in these situations, I bought both!
I do this often with shoes, too- especially when I find a style I *love* and feels perfect on, I’ll get all the colors available in my liking. When you love something, you have got to go for it, right?
So back to the dress, this one though very floral and colorful indeed, is much softer with a more gentle feminine feel. The splashes of purple on white are beautiful, and inspired me to even paint my nails purple to match (and wear my lavender heels, such a gentle and beautiful color).

The little rosettes at the neckline are adorable and the perfect dainty touch for the dress. It is a straight and flowy drop from there, and the print does everything else.
Simple, chic, and perfect for spring. I am loving these frilly feminine prints.

Pommard, A Love Of Luxurious French Wines
April 13, 2009

I love wine, and as the evening arrives and all is calm and quiet- I love nothing more than to relax with a glass of Burgundy. Even when we have some guests over for conversation, a bottle of luxurious wine is always present- it makes us warm and happy.
I love all styles of wines, but burgundy- or pinot noir, is my personal favorite.
So I thought this evening I would share with you what I am drinking, and be forewarned, this is certainly an earthy, full, and rich red wine.

It is a 2005, and comes from the appellation of Pommard, France- where only red wines are allowed to be produced. The wines are known for their full bodied tannic quality, and because of it do well with aging. I admit I am opening this one early (five is generally a minimum with this one, and as many as fifteen or more does very well to soften the tannins and bring out the complexity of the fruit flavors and dimensions).
I used one of my fun little wine tools to speed up the breathing process as well as letting it rest, and I must say it was still quite the treat! Definitely holds well with food- something rich and meaty like a filet, especially something gamey like venison or elk. Nom!

Very rich of red fruit- black cherry, black currant, and plum. Love it. Without the Wine Aerator Tool I have it would come across more bitter, which is why it will do better with time. This is certainly something I would purchase again (and let rest for a future celebration or gathering).
Cheers, loves!

Bunny Ears, A Different Kind Of Hairstyle
April 12, 2009
Bunnies have been on my mind, especially with all the chocolate and marshmallow ones dancing around; we even had a visit from the Easter Bunny at our community event (and yes- we did take a photo, you may have to check my twitter @teresakitten to see it- this one will be a twitpic exclusive I think). But with bunnies everywhere, why not a hairstyle, too? This one is adorable and fun quite well on its own!
It has a clean silhouette which I love in a hairstyle involving two parts- though it may be bunny ears, it still looks rather chic, particularly from the side view.
It isn’t until you get a glimpse from the back that you see the full vision of what they are. From the front, because I began the ears at a medium height in the back (you can certainly make them more obvious by creating them high on top!) from the front you get just a cute little glimpse of the ears. I did not look to overdoing it, merely something unique to play around with.
Definitely makes for a playful Easter holiday look, and I am enjoying having them! I wish you all a wonderful Easter- relax, love your style, and enjoy the time with your loved ones!
Very White With Lots Of Volume, A Marshmallow Dress
April 11, 2009

Mmmm.. marshmallows! Or marshmallow fashion I may need to say, that is certainly what I think of when I wear this dress. It is bright, white, and definitely very fluffy- a fun and playful little dress!
I bought this some time ago, back when I think Vogue had a special line for The Gap- remember the white voluminous dresses? Well this was one of them, and I adored wearing it. But once it went into the back of my closet during the winter months, I had forgotten about it. That is to say until now. It was some number of years ago but I am delighted to have discovered this dress once again.
It billows like an over-sized pillow case, but then stops short with a bow and ruffles finishing off as an adorable skirt. The short sleeves are giant puff balls, too- which I love. It may be big with volume in the core- but it still shows the arms, neck, and legs which keeps the feminine form alive. And that is also why it makes me think of a marshmallow- like a giant one with puffed sleeves and a ruffled skirt! Not a bad thing in this case, just a yummy and fun one.
Depending on how you move depends on how giant the puff of the dress will be- it moves very nicely and is incredibly comfortable. I love this dress, not a style I would wear on a daily basis but something that is delightful to wear from time to time. I love playing with silhouettes and volume, and especially with volume- balance is key. If this were a long dress, it wouldn’t work- it would then literally look like a pillow case!
But as it is now, it’s just right, playful but still feminine enough to wear and love.
And since I was wearing a white frilly dress with giant puff-ball sleeves, I couldn’t help but add an incredibly girly pink headband to go with it.
A bow, frills, puffed sleeves, and a pink headband? Definitely marshmallow sweet
