Buckle Up Your Heels!

March 22, 2010

Buckled up + loaded with straps + a shiny platform heel contrasting against some texture + a flash of red peering out with each step = a recipe for killer, gorgeous shoes!

These are my latest platform pumps from HOLLYSHOES found on YESSTYLE, and I am absolutely in love. When I saw them online I thought they would make for a great classic pump to mix in with my daily styling, but then they arrived and I discovered they are much much more than just that.

It’s not just the design, but the contrast in textures that really has me going crazy for them. These shoes are down right sexy.

Loaded with buckles that are adjustable for the perfect fit, you still have the convenience of a zipper making these shoes simple to put on. I love buckles but when they are the only working function, they can be a pain to deal with. Fortunately because of the zipper, not only are they easy to wear but the straps will last a lot longer looking clean and beautiful.

The shape makes me think of the mary jane heel silhouette, but grown up and edgy. And who can resist that texture. The balance is just right, too, making the combination an elegant one rather than a cluttered one.

These shoes are killer, no question about it. I thought they would be “another black pump” but I’ll definitely be having fun with these. I love it when black steps away from the ordinary and does something bold like this. It has all the right elements.

I have enjoyed the presence of buckles and straps in boots this past winter, and I am now enjoying the look in my classic pumps!

  1. Zanotti or Louboutin ftw?

  2. Oh my gosh these are HOT!!! I love the buckle and zipper combo. Love it!

  3. Neither, though I do love Louboutin and these make me think of them (the Differa from Louboutin are fierce). These are from a brand on YESSTYLE called Holly Shoes. With or without the red I still love them. Good eye, Travis.

Alix, I am so in love with them. And the buckle/zipper combo is a must, fortunately the zipper is small and cute, too, lol.

    xx

  4. AAaaw AND I simply have to say that your “Fetish fineries” (AND the way you stage them) ideally illustrate THE (so seductive) “bloody Dizzyness” idea !!!!

  5. Hi, Teresa! I happened upon your site and I will definitely be a regular. I love your sense of fashion…and your cats! Can’t wait for more!

  6. you realize if we wore the same size, we’d be raiding eachother’s shoe wardrobes

  7. Delighted you enjoy them, Antoine.

Thank you so much, Care! It is a pleasure to meet you. One of my kitties is sitting right here with me as I type, lol. They are spoiled and know it!

Tracy, once upon a time my old roommate and I had the same shoe size and we dedicated three closets in our home to shoes! Then one sad day my shoe size changed, pretty dramatically, and all the shoes became hers. ::sigh:: as happy for her as I am, it was a hard day!

I *would* love it if we had the same shoe size, you’ve got some killer heels over there! Oh the possibilities..

  8. Dear Bombshell Kitten,
You truly are pretty and fabulous!
You are certainly one of the most beautiful, feminine women i have beheld, and I have to say that I admire your confidence so much. You style is truly inspiring.
Now of course, i have to ask you the obvious question, how do you stay so thin? everything looks wonderful on you not only because you are a MODEL, but because you carry it so well. And honestly, that is something, i must confess, that i envy.
Though, it is a bit embarassing, i have to ask you, are there any tips you have on being so secure? Is confidence something that can be learned, or is it simply in your nature?

  9. Daffodil,

Thank you so much for the wonderful message! You are an absolute dear. And, lol, on the obvious question I stay thin from my fast metabolism, much like my mother. I have heard some people discuss blood type having a factor with what you eat, and I must admit I eat pretty closely to my blood type (not on purpose but naturally). For the most part I do and eat what I love and keep it all in balance- all for satisfaction.

Confidence is a beautiful thing and a quality that moves you and those around you forward. I thank my mother and aunt for their lessons which have given me the confidence and security that I have. We chose how we respond to the things that happen in life. I would highly recommend reading Sean Stephenson’s book “Get off your ‘Butt’” or even just checking him out on twitter:

He’s great and really sends out a strong and welcoming message ;)

I hope to hear more from you. :)

  11. OMG! Those shoes are amazing! Merci for the tips! You rock!
