Shoes: Gaga Inspired (Ooh la la)
July 31, 2010

When I first saw these shoes on yesstyle.com, Gaga (ooh la la) came to mind. With a brilliant red color, insanely high heel, mirror silver shine, and a bow that screams fierce- I had to have them. Yes, they are kind of “out there” but I like to walk that line every now and then.
These are my latest find from KVOLL and they definitely make their presence known. Aside from feeling taller than ever, the shine and design of these heels are sure to gain attention. The rhinestone bow is what does it for me on this pair, for without it all would be lost.
KVOLL Rhinestone “Bow” Platform Sandals
As heels climb higher and higher, we have to make sure the design is kept alive. A platform helps keep your foot comfortable, but too much of either the heel or platform begins to look, well… not the look we are going for lets just say *ha*. I like how the silver divides up the red on the platform heel, slightly softening the height it brings. The lines make it more slender and interesting. But in this shoe, it is all about the sparkly bow. This is a serious pair of red heels!
The bow makes me think of hello kitty, but all grown up. Perhaps that is where Lady Gaga comes to mind for me. I’ve only worn these out once, with a simple structured red dress, simple make up and straight hair. I’ll let the shoes make the statement and stand out on their own.
What fashion inspirations have you been craving?

Look For Fall: Mesh Details
July 24, 2010

Mesh is making a presence as fall arrives around the corner. You are starting to see it as a detail in accessories- from shoes, shirts, dresses, skirts, and more. It gives a new texture and feel to your style. Mesh is a funny material and can be a big hit or miss depending on how it is worn. We want to use the texture and add some contrast all while keeping things glamorous and pretty.
KVOLL Shoes: Lace-Up Tulle Overlay Pumps
In these shoes from KVOLL on YESSTYLE.com, we have a nice soft beige contrasting against the black mesh bunched around the ankle. This gives an otherwise soft toned shoe some edge. Mesh can bring items from simple to fierce.
I’m really starting to fall for Kvoll, their shoes are inexpensive and incredibly fun and interesting. For the price, I am quite surprised at the comfort of these heels.. they fit like a glove and are soft to the touch.
The details don’t stop with the mesh, either. We also have the large eyelet rings bringing another element of beige against the black via the lace. I love the way it looks against the skin, it stands out so nicely! This could give a summer dress some rock glamor.

At the bottom of the shoe we see a sparkling covered platform- not over done but definitely a wow factor. These are some killer rocking heels at under $50. I’m loving them.
And I’m enjoying the idea of playing with mesh and tulle a lot more. You are starting to see it creep into the details of our dresses, ruffles, and shirts. It is like a new alternative to lace.. but instead of dainty more of an edgey appeal. Think more sexy than cute. I have my eye on some mesh dresses and one pieces, mixed in with body suits for interesting designs. I’m looking forward to where these designs take us, but for now I’m enjoying my heels.

Kvoll Shoe Update + A Sneak Peak
June 12, 2010
“Bow” Leopard Printed Platform Pumps from YesStyle.com
They are under $50 and absolutely fabulous. Now the question is, are they any good? You know what I mean, when a shoe is inexpensive you have to wonder where the compromise may be. Generally speaking it is in the comfort or it is in the detailed appearance. From afar they can be pretty but what about the close up and touch?
Well I gotta say so far I am a happy lady. The leopard print design is soft to the touch, a bit velvety much like the bow (I have cats so please ignore the fur in the images, it happens) and the heel and platform are a shiny vinyl material. Beautiful. Both away and up close beautiful.

The next concern is comfort, and I must admit this is where my focus was since the exterior right away was a pleaser. It isn’t a cushioned exotic leather, just your simple materials but the fit is good and after a few moments of walking, you forget the material and go on with your day. This is a good thing! At this price, nothing is too perfect but this one is just right! Kvoll offers lots of great designs at amazing prices, so I wanted to start with one pair to see if it was worth diving in. I have a few shoes from them that have caught my eye and I will definitely be going in for more!

I’ve only had these shoes for a couple of days now and I will be curious to see how they hold up with time. I’ll be sure to give you an update but for now, the future looks great! In the mean time, here is a sneak peak at my latest (and now favorite) handbag, also from yesstyle.com:

I just got a new phone, which also means a new camera with plenty of filters, apps, and things to play with. I couldn’t help it, lol. This purse is sooo lovely to the touch, it just feels like luxury. And the pockets are perfect, too. Just enough while still looking elegant. I love how it flops over at the top when you hold it with the long strap, or shows off its beautiful design in full when held from the handles. I’ll be updating with all the details soon.
Update Your Look With An Updo, Splash of Color, and Killer Shoes!
May 29, 2010

Most of the time we focus on the clothing- the latest styles, silhouettes, patterns, colors, and more. But we always have the opportunity to update our look (and our existing wardrobe) with everything that surrounds the clothing. I’m talking hair, accessories, and make up!
I love taking a simple black dress and making the bold elements my hair and shoes. Mix in a big bracelet, interesting earrings, or bright splash of color on the eyes and nails and bam you’re look is instantly updated. The trick is to not do all of the above, but just a few carefully selected choices. A few truly bold fashion statements will go much further on their own without any competition.
With the warm weather outside I have been feeling the simple look more and more. But clean and simple can still be elegant instead of boring. Take for instance the three things I am focusing in on today:
An updo, with a smooth round bun/ball of hair followed by a simple braid, a splash of color on the eyes, and a pair of killer hot strapped heels.

Okay, I probably should have taken photos right after doing my hair and not after running around finishing errands (ha); but I must say everything has been holding together nicely. And fashion wise, I feel comfortable, elegant, and fierce at the same time. Running around doing errands never felt so fun ;D

For my make up I decided to go with a solid color over the lids, blending where appropriate. I added a bit of water to the shadow to get a more vibrant color application. (This meant I blended the color against itself and my natural skin tone. Sans water the shadow applies in a much lighter and subtle shade, and with water the color is solid and brilliant). After that, just a touch of a dark shadow used as a liner on the bottom and outside the edges completes my look, as well an application of mascara.

Now for the hair, this was an unexpected do. I just did it, loved it, and ran with it! I knew I wanted something off to the side, but wasn’t sure what I wanted beyond that point. So I began with what I knew and made that the foundation. Just your simple pony tail.
From there, I took the top portion of my pony tail, made a small loop and secured it with pins. I teased what was left of my hair from beyond the loop (the portion the pins couldn’t secure smoothly) and then tucked it inside the loop of hair, spreading the loop until it covered the teased hair and looked like a smooth and perfect ball. Once I had that portion to my liking I added some pins to secure it.
Now I was sitting there with a puff ball on top, and the rest of the pony tail still sitting smoothly. I was going to make them into little balls of hair as well, but then decided to do a clean braid.
And bam- the look was complete. I will have to repeat this look and perfect it with time, I really love it

The final step in my look was with the shoes. I wanted something that would match my dress, but go beyond your classic heel design. Something with a bit more character to play off the hair and make up. These platform strappy heels from LA FRESHA were just the thing!
VIEW MORE SHOES FROM LA FRESHA
They have the perfect mix of textures, giving the solid black color a bit more character and interest. You also have a beautiful heel with an angled platform that makes these shoes stand out. A vibrant red undercoat and beautiful strappy front gives you a look that is sure to turn heads. I love these!

I love fashion, there is so much to play with! And I think it is great that even though you could be in a room with everyone wearing the same outfit, everyone will look different and wear it with their own unique style. The more you play with your hair, make up, and accessories the more you can separate your style from the masses. Find some inspiration, get motivated, and then start creating.
Look back into your closet for some old items and make them interesting again. Also keep in mind what you can do with your wardrobe when you are shopping for new items. Look for shoes that come in colors that match your dresses, or maybe a classic black pair with a unique design such as these pictured here. Whatever you do, make it your own and love every moment of it!
Zac Posen For Target + Zahir Kill Heel From YesStyle
May 17, 2010

The amazing Zac Posen has been the latest fabulous designer to create a collection for TARGET; and a fabulous dress requires some fabulous heels. Fortunately, I found both the dress and the killer heels just in time. First, let’s take a look at the dress and then we will get into the shoes!

Ruffles, ruffles, and ruffles- oh my! I love the subtle contrast the navy color gives against the black, and the sheer shiny brilliance is purely a bonus. Fitted underneath and voluminous waist down, this is a stunning piece. When looking online, it seems this beautiful design also comes in an all red version. I wasn’t fortunate enough to find it in a store, but I still am all about the two tones seen here (Besides, I already have my red dress!).
Now, what I didn’t realize at first was that this is actually two pieces. Not a top and a bottom, but a full on dress with the decor being the second piece. The black fitted portion can be worn as a dress on its own, or it can be elaborated with the second piece, the ruffles, as seen in the photos above. I’m curious to play around with the ruffles to see how I can mix it with the rest of my wardrobe. They are too fabulous to be left alone!

Now, on to the shoes!
With a name like kill heel, you know I had to have them. Mwah. And they look the part. Elegant with a beautiful arch and subtle round toe- these shoes are a classic with a beautiful texture and feel. They dress up any outfit, or as in the case with this elaborate dress, make a perfect compliment. We all need a perfect pair of heels for “that special dress” and for me it’s the kill heel from Zahir. I’ve been looking at more shoes from Zahir after having fallen in love with these, they have a very runway look and feel to them without going overboard.
The bottom has a clever and very nice design of Zahir’s branding, but what’s interesting about it is that because the text is raised it gives you a great grip as you walk. This makes each step very powerful and comfortable. Design with function- love it.
*Sigh* Dress and shoe heaven, nominess. Even my fashion kitty, Aveline, approves, ha!

Shoe Lust: Heels To Fall For
May 6, 2010
I’ve been doing a little window shopping which somehow always leads me to finding new shoes. Ones to dream about, ones to match dresses to, and then ones that amaze you in price. At least that has been the case for me. Wow, have I found some killer heels that are no-guilt when it comes to meeting your budget!
FIRST: The Under $50

KVOLL is a brand that is new to me on yesstyle.com. I just ordered a pair (not pictured here, I want to surprise you when they come in!) to get a feel for their style and quality. Now, for the price they are currently listed at… it is pretty impossible to resist. They are adorable! I’ll let you know what I think once my shoes arrive. Right now, I’m just excited about the look of them.
You can find out more about each shoe pictured in this post by clicking the image of the shoe. Prices are always subject to change but at the time of writing this post, the two shown above are only $35. Yep!
COCOEVE is a brand I have purchased from in the past with wonderful results. Their darling and fashion forward designs have always caught the attention of shoe admirers when I am wearing them. The shoes pictured just above and below are both from Cocoeve. Aren’t they fabulous?
The ones above are prefect for any occasion, and the gold chains add an extra fabulous factor. The color tone is soft and elegant, but the design gives it that extra it factor.
The red little darlings below have me going “awe” each time I look at them. I just purchased a darling little red dress and I keep thinking these shoes, with their cute little bow, would be an adorable combination.
Okay! Next up….
The Over $50 and Under $100
Just in the next price level, these are shoes that have that dream-like quality.
MIZ SHOES: First of all, love the color. I’ve been getting more dresses in this exact shade even. The design is dainty and feminine and has that high fashion look. It reminds me of something that would have just stepped off the runway. These are beautiful, and they also come in black. Black may be a classic, but I vote for the color on this one.
STYLEKELLY: Keeping in the feel of spring and summer, these are a pretty and girlie and elegant shoe for any lady of fashion. The ruffles are eye catching but not over the top, and the dainty bow is just precious. I like the color here as it is perfect for the nude and lighter shade dresses. A floral dress could go great here, too. I’m loving the look of these!
LA FRESHA: From pretty and delicate to bold and fierce, these heels let people know you are serious! I have many shoes from LA FRESHA in my closet and wear them regularly-they are comfortable, look fabulous, and so far have been holding up well. I can wear my shoes pretty hard from time to time, so something that can keep up with me is important.
This has a gladiator or armor type look to them. They are unique and definitely statement makers. Color wise they stay to a simple black with gold accents, but look at this design. An elegant toe and then an edgy ankle, what a combination. I really like the way the ankle cuff is large and fitted, but also has a large cut in the back so it doesn’t swallow up your ankle completely. You want the skin to show to keep the form flattering. This is a serious shoe I have my eyes on- love it!
Ah… I love looking at shoes. Well these are the ones giving me new inspirations; I’ll be sharing some of my recent favorites I’ve been wearing with you over the next week. Stay tuned!

Pretty In Pink For Spring
April 2, 2010

Spring is here and pastels have returned to style. Nudes and light pink shades are especially very nice this season. My latest find is a very pink and girlie number that is… well, as girlie as it gets! With a beautiful mix of textures, layers, and even a beautiful pair of shoes to match- this is a spring feminine dream.
DRESS: SHY SHY Set-Sequined Tulle Camisole + Satin Tulle Hem Slipdress
SHOES: STYLE LINE Open-Toe Platform Stilettos

Both these pieces are available from YESSTYLE. The shoes are available in a few different colors, and as tempting as the classic black pumps are, I had to go for the pink and push the girlie factor with this whimsical dress.
Just look at all the elements going on here. Sequins, satin, a frilly skirt and mix of textured layers all come together with the single light pink color base. The shoes keep the color a solid look and add an extra girlie touch with a heart shaped charm. With girlie numbers like this, spring has a lot to offer us this year.

These shoes have a nice cushioned feel to them and the design is very playful. Color aside, check out the detail of this zipper design and heart shaped charm finish:
A classic high heeled peep-toe shoe gets a whole new look with a zipper accenting line and charm in the back. In any color, these shoes rock!
I actually have a few pink dresses and tops in the same shade and am looking forward to matching them with my new heels. But this dress takes the show, it’s just darling and perfect!
What colors are grabbing you this spring?

Buckle Up Your Heels!
March 22, 2010
Buckled up + loaded with straps + a shiny platform heel contrasting against some texture + a flash of red peering out with each step = a recipe for killer, gorgeous shoes!
These are my latest platform pumps from HOLLYSHOES found on YESSTYLE, and I am absolutely in love. When I saw them online I thought they would make for a great classic pump to mix in with my daily styling, but then they arrived and I discovered they are much much more than just that.
It’s not just the design, but the contrast in textures that really has me going crazy for them. These shoes are down right sexy.

Loaded with buckles that are adjustable for the perfect fit, you still have the convenience of a zipper making these shoes simple to put on. I love buckles but when they are the only working function, they can be a pain to deal with. Fortunately because of the zipper, not only are they easy to wear but the straps will last a lot longer looking clean and beautiful.

The shape makes me think of the mary jane heel silhouette, but grown up and edgy. And who can resist that texture. The balance is just right, too, making the combination an elegant one rather than a cluttered one.
These shoes are killer, no question about it. I thought they would be “another black pump” but I’ll definitely be having fun with these. I love it when black steps away from the ordinary and does something bold like this. It has all the right elements.
I have enjoyed the presence of buckles and straps in boots this past winter, and I am now enjoying the look in my classic pumps!

All Wrapped Up: The Ankle Boot
February 26, 2010
I adore it when fabric wraps you up: the style, the illusion of movement, and texture are beautiful. This is something we see commonly in clothes, but what about shoes?

A shoe’s silhouette can be playful but no matter how daring it wishes to become, it must maintain a certain appeal. No one wants bulky ankles or blocks on their feet, we want a feminine line to be displayed. Bold and playful designs walk a fine line to maintain femininity with attitude. Often we speak about classic lines made modern by adding volume. With this pair of shoes, that is just what comes to mind.
The heel is thin and gives a nice reveal of the arch, but then up top you have a wide ankle. This style is always an interesting one to me as you want to be sure not to shorten the appearance of your legs or ankles. What I like here is the wrapped texture which gives you layers and depth bringing the design of the shoe together. This way, the wide ankle is not too alarming nor is it the focus, the fabric flows together.
With a little knot in the back you have some nice elegant lines along with a bit of attitude. It reminds me of an updo you would do to your hair, everything being swept nicely into a chignon.

These wrapped up boots are from 59 SECONDS and can be found on yesstyle.com. Though the black pair are no longer available, the same shoe in cream currently is and will be great for spring’s soft tones. (Oh, and they are only $33.60 at the time of this writing, making them a steal. Style doesn’t have to cost a fortune.)
When I first got them I didn’t know what to think. Again, the wide ankle had me wondering. But after a few moments of wearing them they have instantly become a favorite of mine. Ever have that happen to you?
I kept going back to them online while looking for new shoe styles, and when I saw the price I had to go for it. The wrapped textured look is something I will continue keeping an eye out for.

Lines and texture, what are you looking for in your shoes? You just might start finding yourself all wrapped up and loving it.

A Soft Gray Instead Of A Vivid Silver For Elegant Shoes?
November 15, 2009

I’ve been looking to replace my mirrored silver shoes for some time now (they died tragically on the rainy streets of south beach in the early morning hours, sad but true. They were survived by an adorable and frilly pink dress).
Silver shoes are a must- they go so beautifully with the pastel shades of spring and summer, and look so elegant in the winter with the black and white contrast of colors. It was when I came across these shoes from LA FRESHA on yesstyle.com that a new thought occurred to me- why not a soft suede gray instead of the obvious striking silver? These add a new dimension and feel to an elegant fashion.
The peep toe is a classic, and the lines are beautiful. But check out that platform with its unusual but striking angle- striking in design rather than color. Such a simple little twist but such drastic results.
Feminine lines with a striking silhouette- these shoes are a haute shoe lover’s must. I heart them so much! They come in a light pink and black as well, but I already have a pair of pink Givenchy suede heels and wanted something different. Something soft and feminine but daring in shape. Bingo.

Shoe Lust: A Must Killer Leggings & Pumps Comination
October 22, 2009

So this morning there was a knock on my door, followed by a beautiful box from the delivery girl. Oh, you could smell the shoes in the air, just waiting to be played with.
I ordered them online and was anxious to see them in person, after all you never know until the moment of truth when you try them on. Well the the moment is now here and… holy freaking wow!
Serious fashion must, and possibly my new favorite shoe! The straps and angles are perfect, and I love how they had the straps at the top crossed over. Very clever and a technique that can be applied to any multi strap shoe. Haute.
When I was ordering the shoes, I had come across these leggings that in my head I thought would go perfectly. With all the fashion fuss about over the knee boots that are to the thighs and higher, I figured why not play the look with leggings?
And these are no ordinary leggings. I’m not particularly a legging girl, it just isn’t my thing. But these are “distressed” which give it a texture and unique look with the design. Not your ordinary pair of leggings. With this style blending into these heels- it is one killer haute dream look.
BTW, if you want a pair for yourself (the shoes are only $38 and the leggings $20) you can view their direct product order and description pages from the links below:
Cocoeve Multi Strap Ankle Pumps
*I highly recommend just looking at what “Cocoeve” and “La Fresha” has to offer in shoes, some very pretty window shopping available there. I also have a new pair of shoes from La Fresha to share with you, so you might get a sneak peak by seeing their styles online.
The shoes also come in white in that same style. But if you search through the site you’ll find lots of similar styles with their own unique twist. I had a difficult time deciding, in fact after having received these shoes I’m going to place another order for the others. I wanted to make sure they were killer in person. They wear like a dream, too.
My gladiator heels I purchased from the site some time ago are still ones that attract attention anywhere I go, and look as new as the day I first got them. So I am confident with them, these new shoes just confirmed it for me. Yay… I heart shoes ;D
Alright, I’m out to go rock my new look. Ciao.
Shoes Don’t Need A Name Or Price To Be Glamorous
July 22, 2009

Oh, shoes- can there ever be such a thing as too many? I’ve made it my own personal challenge to find out, and so far all is looking pretty fabulous. One of my favorite treats is discovering boutique items for a minimum price. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pair of Louboutin shoes and get excited each time I see a glimpse of their gorgeous red bottoms, but there is something to also be appreciated in the glamorous “finds”. This shoe is just one such case:

I found these glamorous shoes at a boutique shop near my old home in Miami Beach. It has been several years since the purchase, but you’d nevr know it looking at the shoes. They have survived with me well and continue to impress me. The structure is beautiful and a very comfortable fit. The glamor speaks for itself- stunning.
I’ll be the first to admit I adore a sparkling object, and am in heaven when surrounded by them. The way the crystals hang in unique patterns with pretty colorful designs feels rich and luxurious. These shoes are from “Michael Antonio” a shoe designer I had never heard of until I came across this boutique shop that carried them. All of their shoes have that “wow factor” design and even more so with the price. I love it.
Do a search for Michael Antonio and you’ll see all the collections have that unique feel and a very welcoming price for the fanatic shoe shopper, you can indulge pretty comfortably here.
I bought this pair at first with the clubbing shoe mentality- inexpensive enough to not worry about and easy to replace, but still freaking adorable. They have surprised me though and lasted longer than many of my other shoes.
The pink and silver design gives it a feminine feel that is easy to match and dress up any outfit with a unique flair. The mesh still feels elegant the way it is handled on the shoe, and the crystals keep it interesting. Easily shoes you could stare out while you hold your drink at the bar, they’re pretty and they know it, lol.
But it just goes to show that glamor doesn’t need to be a certain name or certain price to be stunning, there is room in this world for a mix of it all. Keep it pretty and keep it fabulous!
