All Wrapped Up: The Ankle Boot
February 26, 2010
I adore it when fabric wraps you up: the style, the illusion of movement, and texture are beautiful. This is something we see commonly in clothes, but what about shoes?

A shoe’s silhouette can be playful but no matter how daring it wishes to become, it must maintain a certain appeal. No one wants bulky ankles or blocks on their feet, we want a feminine line to be displayed. Bold and playful designs walk a fine line to maintain femininity with attitude. Often we speak about classic lines made modern by adding volume. With this pair of shoes, that is just what comes to mind.
The heel is thin and gives a nice reveal of the arch, but then up top you have a wide ankle. This style is always an interesting one to me as you want to be sure not to shorten the appearance of your legs or ankles. What I like here is the wrapped texture which gives you layers and depth bringing the design of the shoe together. This way, the wide ankle is not too alarming nor is it the focus, the fabric flows together.
With a little knot in the back you have some nice elegant lines along with a bit of attitude. It reminds me of an updo you would do to your hair, everything being swept nicely into a chignon.

These wrapped up boots are from 59 SECONDS and can be found on yesstyle.com. Though the black pair are no longer available, the same shoe in cream currently is and will be great for spring’s soft tones. (Oh, and they are only $33.60 at the time of this writing, making them a steal. Style doesn’t have to cost a fortune.)
When I first got them I didn’t know what to think. Again, the wide ankle had me wondering. But after a few moments of wearing them they have instantly become a favorite of mine. Ever have that happen to you?
I kept going back to them online while looking for new shoe styles, and when I saw the price I had to go for it. The wrapped textured look is something I will continue keeping an eye out for.

Lines and texture, what are you looking for in your shoes? You just might start finding yourself all wrapped up and loving it.

A Soft Gray Instead Of A Vivid Silver For Elegant Shoes?
November 15, 2009

I’ve been looking to replace my mirrored silver shoes for some time now (they died tragically on the rainy streets of south beach in the early morning hours, sad but true. They were survived by an adorable and frilly pink dress).
Silver shoes are a must- they go so beautifully with the pastel shades of spring and summer, and look so elegant in the winter with the black and white contrast of colors. It was when I came across these shoes from LA FRESHA on yesstyle.com that a new thought occurred to me- why not a soft suede gray instead of the obvious striking silver? These add a new dimension and feel to an elegant fashion.
The peep toe is a classic, and the lines are beautiful. But check out that platform with its unusual but striking angle- striking in design rather than color. Such a simple little twist but such drastic results.
Feminine lines with a striking silhouette- these shoes are a haute shoe lover’s must. I heart them so much! They come in a light pink and black as well, but I already have a pair of pink Givenchy suede heels and wanted something different. Something soft and feminine but daring in shape. Bingo.

Shoe Lust: A Must Killer Leggings & Pumps Comination
October 22, 2009

So this morning there was a knock on my door, followed by a beautiful box from the delivery girl. Oh, you could smell the shoes in the air, just waiting to be played with.
I ordered them online and was anxious to see them in person, after all you never know until the moment of truth when you try them on. Well the the moment is now here and… holy freaking wow!
Serious fashion must, and possibly my new favorite shoe! The straps and angles are perfect, and I love how they had the straps at the top crossed over. Very clever and a technique that can be applied to any multi strap shoe. Haute.
When I was ordering the shoes, I had come across these leggings that in my head I thought would go perfectly. With all the fashion fuss about over the knee boots that are to the thighs and higher, I figured why not play the look with leggings?
And these are no ordinary leggings. I’m not particularly a legging girl, it just isn’t my thing. But these are “distressed” which give it a texture and unique look with the design. Not your ordinary pair of leggings. With this style blending into these heels- it is one killer haute dream look.
BTW, if you want a pair for yourself (the shoes are only $38 and the leggings $20) you can view their direct product order and description pages from the links below:
Cocoeve Multi Strap Ankle Pumps
*I highly recommend just looking at what “Cocoeve” and “La Fresha” has to offer in shoes, some very pretty window shopping available there. I also have a new pair of shoes from La Fresha to share with you, so you might get a sneak peak by seeing their styles online.
The shoes also come in white in that same style. But if you search through the site you’ll find lots of similar styles with their own unique twist. I had a difficult time deciding, in fact after having received these shoes I’m going to place another order for the others. I wanted to make sure they were killer in person. They wear like a dream, too.
My gladiator heels I purchased from the site some time ago are still ones that attract attention anywhere I go, and look as new as the day I first got them. So I am confident with them, these new shoes just confirmed it for me. Yay… I heart shoes ;D
Alright, I’m out to go rock my new look. Ciao.
Shoes Don’t Need A Name Or Price To Be Glamorous
July 22, 2009

Oh, shoes- can there ever be such a thing as too many? I’ve made it my own personal challenge to find out, and so far all is looking pretty fabulous. One of my favorite treats is discovering boutique items for a minimum price. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pair of Louboutin shoes and get excited each time I see a glimpse of their gorgeous red bottoms, but there is something to also be appreciated in the glamorous “finds”. This shoe is just one such case:

I found these glamorous shoes at a boutique shop near my old home in Miami Beach. It has been several years since the purchase, but you’d nevr know it looking at the shoes. They have survived with me well and continue to impress me. The structure is beautiful and a very comfortable fit. The glamor speaks for itself- stunning.
I’ll be the first to admit I adore a sparkling object, and am in heaven when surrounded by them. The way the crystals hang in unique patterns with pretty colorful designs feels rich and luxurious. These shoes are from “Michael Antonio” a shoe designer I had never heard of until I came across this boutique shop that carried them. All of their shoes have that “wow factor” design and even more so with the price. I love it.
Do a search for Michael Antonio and you’ll see all the collections have that unique feel and a very welcoming price for the fanatic shoe shopper, you can indulge pretty comfortably here.
I bought this pair at first with the clubbing shoe mentality- inexpensive enough to not worry about and easy to replace, but still freaking adorable. They have surprised me though and lasted longer than many of my other shoes.
The pink and silver design gives it a feminine feel that is easy to match and dress up any outfit with a unique flair. The mesh still feels elegant the way it is handled on the shoe, and the crystals keep it interesting. Easily shoes you could stare out while you hold your drink at the bar, they’re pretty and they know it, lol.
But it just goes to show that glamor doesn’t need to be a certain name or certain price to be stunning, there is room in this world for a mix of it all. Keep it pretty and keep it fabulous!

Shoes From Philosophy: A Nature Theme
July 8, 2009

I love a shoe with a theme, one that’s playful but not obnoxious. These are some of my favorite shoes to this day, I have had them for years and my fascination with them has yet to go away. They are elegant and dazzling, not to mention inspiring!
They are Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti high heels. I couldn’t begin to tell you their exact age, but I do know I have had them for years. I keep them with great care, in their bag, nice and protected until their next appearance. These shoes liven up any outfit and look so adorable with a spring dress. I am thinking my Adela Smocked dress will be just the perfect match with these.

The details go very far in this pair- the stitching of the leaves, the color of the vine and how long it wraps- finished off by another leaf at each end. A gorgeous flower decorates one side of each shoe for a soft and feminine look. It’s almost like a fairy tale.
These are the shoes I bring out whenever I want to make it an extra cheery day or to celebrate a very special occasion (even if it is one I make up just for the shoes). They are such a unique pair.
I constantly seek shoes of this style- “insane” without over doing any one theme or design. It works together completely. At most, I’ll occasionally wear my pink nail polish that matches the shoe exactly! It looks darling in the spring time. But in the other months, like summer- I’ll wear a darker color to contrast and give it a bit more attitude.
Oh, shoes, I heart you!

Killer Gladiator High Heeled Sandals
June 19, 2009

How much do these shoes rock? Seriously! These are some killer haute heels and they just arrived for me to play with- ha ha, and I am having some fun.
The black straps are gorgeous and leave a bold impression on any style or look. With that bright red giving subtle flashes in each step, the look is even more glamorous.
These stunning heels are from “With Mocha” and called High Top Strap Sandals which are found on yesstyle.com. This was my first shoe purchase with them and I must say I am very pleased! The shoe chart was very accurate, so there were no worries there at all (phew)! It would have broken my heart otherwise. But look at these heels:

I love them! They are just stunning- I am looking forward to wearing them out tonight for an event. Definitely will make it a grand occasion.
I had them sent to my shoe person, which is something I do with all my heels that I know I will be wearing often. I add some padding to protect the shoe on the bottom and heel so they will last longer (after too many times of wishing I bought two of the same shoe because I loved it so much, this is my next best option to keep them in perfect condition).
I find it adds a lot of comfort and stability to a shoe as well. Now that these heels are ready and in hand- I am off to play!

Now This Is Absolutely Wild, Roar!
April 23, 2009

Who else loves matching their nail polish to their shoes or favorite accessory? It makes a bold and beautiful statement, and an otherwise simple outfit incredibly fabulous. But take a walk on the wild side with me for a moment- this is a look that is certainly wild!
Now, I’ve posted on my nails that purr before, and even with different variations- but this takes the look on a whole new spin. I had completely forgotten about these adorable heeled booties until I started going through some of my old shoes.

My nails were already painted with the print- I am going to be doing a bit of traveling for the next few days, and the beautiful thing about this look is that respond well to travel, meaning that when they chip it is very subtle and almost looks like a rustic version of the look. Very low maintenance for a fabulous look.

Anyway, with my nails painted the way they are, the instant I saw these booties I knew it was time to bring them out!
I am packing some wintery clothing items- and I think these boots and my nails are just the wow factor I am looking for. Even with an all black outfit (tights and all) these two items will really stand out together.
The shoes I think are Bertini if I am remembering correctly- the name inside has worn out but the shoes themselves are still pristine. I found them for under twenty dollars at one of my shops in Miami, I love finds like that.
Here’s to matching on the wild side- rawr!

Shoes, Pretty Please With A Cherry On Top?
April 22, 2009

Yes, shoes- pretty please, with a cherry on top? I love these and bought them ages ago, but darn their cuteness I keep bringing them out over and over again. The cheery bright yellow color and girlie feel makes me love them even more. And to top it all off, even with the cherries, it also ties with a bow at the ankle- how adorable!
They are from BCBG, and the moment I saw them I had to have them. At the time they also came in a wedge form, but the cherries were not as pronounced as they are in this version… also they didn’t have any in my size which helped with the decision process. I still love these little lovelies.

They are such a perfect spring and summer time shoe- and guaranteed to make you feel adorable when wearing them. How can you not smile with a pair shoes as lovely as these?
They are a joy- the perfect match for my floral and frilly dresses. Though honestly, with shoes like these- a simple outfit gets a whole new attitude from the shoes alone. I also enjoy wearing them with just a simple black dress, and let the shoes be the focus.

Ha, I suppose that makes it two pairs of shoes I have with cherries on them.. what can I say, I love them! Besides, these are completely a different animal (oops, the theme of my next shoe post! you are going to love this! patience…!)
Bow Tie, Black And White Adorable Shoes
April 3, 2009

Shoes? But of course my loves, you never can have too many shoes. And when I came across these pretty little black and white darlings, I couldn’t help myself!
What’s even more surprising is where I found them and for how much.. generally I prefer to spend a good amount on a shoe, I think it is worth it and you can feel it in the quality. But these are something different- something fun and random. Oh, and only twenty five dollars, ha. Can you believe it?
They are quite comfortable for the price, and who am I to deny a shoe of this much cuteness? I went to forever twenty one today, I will make a visit about once a year it seems and find a few cozy and cute outfits to mix and match with my wardrobe. Found a few beautiful dresses as well, but those will follow in posts to come (as well as a beautiful find from Target, hint- Alexander McQueen!). But that’s later.

Back to the shoes- yes they are fabulous and a lucky find. They were the only ones I saw in the shop like it, and fortunately for me exactly my size as well. Don’t you just love when things like that happen, meant to be.
I’ll enjoy playing with these new shoes- the color is perfect for most any outfit and adds a bold new tone to a look. Definitely fun.

Wild Prints For Fashion Fun
March 22, 2009

I love a beautiful print- usually filled with color, bold, and fun. This skirt is something different but still quite fun and bold. Not the usual bright colors you see in a print, but the normally toned down shade of brown against the white with this wild pattern is remarkably bold and I love it.
With a print like this I want it to stand out on its own- too much of anything else, color, design or whatever have you would just get lost and compete.

One thing I would do is wear some funky or playful earrings- maybe a bangle on my wrist as well; it can handle the skirt’s design without fighting it.
This particular skirt I found at forever 21; I must say they produce some cute items from time to time (though their options are massive and overwhelming as well- at least for me).
I like this pattern and color scheme- it is something I wouldn’t mind having more of. I think brown is a nice color and I haven’t really seen it so bold as it is here. Who knew it had such a playful attitude- just needed a fun pattern to show it.

Oh, and of course the shoes… Normally I’d wear a simple shoe (black pump or even my brown ballet slipper heels pictured below). But instead I decided to wear my new Vincent Camuto shoes- these are some hot shoes. I did an entry a little while back on them, and here they are again, such beauties. Brown and white like the skirt (though shades lighter I think it still works just fine).

And here is the other shoe I would wear with this skirt (which matches in color exactly, and yet still a little playful in design). Its my BCBG ballet slipper heels- I bought them years ago but they still stay in style. One of those classic shapes and colors that will always be in. Its such a pretty shoe.
Pour La Victoire, Seriously Haute Shoes In Noir
March 17, 2009
Alright, I have shoes on my mind and I want something with a strong bold statement. Pour La Victoire is setting just the perfect mood for me- very high heels in a clasic black color, but incredibly rich with attitude.
Brazilian made and French inspired, Pour La Victoire’s shoes are indeed very fabulous.

Above is the Paige Sandal and Tia Platform Slide, both with a gorgeous heel and filled with straps. I think I prefer the Paige for every day wear since it can be worn with most anything, but there is something so dangerous and sultry about the Tia Platform that I cannot resist. Both are killer heels to take notice of. I am adding them to my list.
Classic black heels are fabulous, but sometimes you want a little more attitude or play in structure to reinvent the timeless look- perhaps why we can never have enough black shoes… though the same applies to shoes in any color, truly!
You can find them online from endless, zappos, or your preferable place to shop for shoes- I am loving these styles very much, definitely meeting my cravings.
In fact, the Sabrina Platform below has also caught my eye- has that rock and roll glamor look and feel to it. Quite fun!

In The Nude With Curls
February 28, 2009

After bringing out my old polka dot bombshell shoes I felt inspired to go into the nude- it’s just so comfortable. Naturally, I adore style in my nude and the silhouette does everything. Look at this heel- I fell in love the instant I found it.
I mentioned that I searched to get every single pattern this style shoe had to offer, and only ended up with finding one more pair in my size- the soft leather nudes.

Oh how I love these shoes, and the best part is when the color is nude- it

goes with everything. I love to wear these especially with my white doll-like dresses.
But today I decided to keep with the natural earth tones and go with a little green. I have this darling little green dress that is short but full of volume. I love how comfortable it feels and the way it moves when I walk. Also, it has these giant pockets that are absolutely adorable! Oh, and the curls?
I just had my haircut- it doesn’t take too long for me to begin resembling a sheep dog with my bangs, and my stylist, Clemente, went all out with my hair creating these fabulous curls!

I love after a haircut, when your hair feels gorgeous and light as a feather- and then bounces when you walk. So fabulous!
So with my nude shoes and bouncy curly hair I am feeling especially glamorous. Nude shoes and curls- definitely a friendly fashion combination.
