Nails with a hint of Noir Beauty
December 18, 2008

Well, winter is definitely here and the cool fog lingering outside the window makes it all the more cozy in my home. Maybe it is the weather that has inspired me, but either way I love it- I have been playing around a bit with the classic black and white color schemes.
I love black and white, makes me think of old fashioned movies or gorgeous photography. Yes, I adore color and its brilliance, but sometimes a little indulgence and admiration for the old black and white can be just as vibrant!
I’ve been wearing my eye make up rather soft lately- with just a soft hint and shimmer of silver on the lids and a delicate cat like brush of black eye liner on the ends. Mascara of course- I love big and bold lashes. It is a soft look I love to do every now and then. And then, looking at my nails- it was time for a new coat of paint.

I didn’t feel like color, but didn’t want nude or natural shades either. Then I remembered this pale gray nail polish I had purchased sometime ago. And I thought, I like it but it needs something to wow me right now. That’s when I decided a touch of noir was in order.
I love the look- I think it came out quite lovely! It is still elegant and quite a subtle fashion note. I think the black tips on nude are too much a contrast, but the gray allows more of a compliment and transition.
Looking at my computer keys, I realize it matches them, too now. Ha, still pretty delightful I think. I am very happy with the results!

Little addition- now that I think of it, taupe would look nice as a base color, too!
Gorgeous nails! I love that black and white combo. If I didn’t work with my hands and ruin my nails all the time, I’d put a little effort into making them look as glamorous!
I believe you! Just packing items to be shipped this season has done a number on mine- even the cards managed to chip at me- seriously don’t even know how it happened.
I had them painted like the leopard print meow nails just before this shade- gotta say, since its only spots as a design, when it chips you cannot even tell- adds to the look somehow. Rustic? Totally works and lasts longer, especially when your working. It is very simple to do, too.
