Twisted & Angled Into A Bow Hair Fashion Style
April 2, 2009

It has been a little while since I last styled my hair up and so this morning I was feeling inspired. I just started to play around a bit with my hair, originally considering a classy little side swept style, but then I did something different.

I started down low and off to the side- sectioning my hair off similar to how I normally would for the side swept up do. Only this time instead of clustering the twisted up buns on the same side together, I began to work my way up in a diagonal- not really on purpose at first it just kind of ended up in that direction.
Sometimes you just have to follow your hair to wherever it wishes to go to. As was the case here. I didn’t know what to think at first but it began to grow on me and now I rather like it.
It is different and unique, but still very clean with that classic feel to it. The principles are not wild, but come together in a lovely modern manner.

Dressed up and finished with a bright and long red bow- I wrapped it around each mini-bun and tied the bow on top. So there is a low bun on one side and a high bun on the other (a cute bright bow peaking out). My hair is so dark that I wanted a contrast to make the design have more of a pop factor to it. I think a white ribbon would do the trick as well-but the red has such a nice richness to it.

Marvelous, Decadent, & A Must For Style
March 30, 2009

What makes you feel marvelous? Fashion at its highest point is when it keeps you feeling confident, strong, determined, and above all yourself at your best.
Sometimes it is a single carefully selected piece that does it all for us- no matter where we are or what we are doing, we feel at our best simply knowing we are wearing it. It carries a strength that we recognize and gather simply from feeling it on our bodies, and it is purposed just for us, alone.

Others may notice it (they most likely will, it stands out), but we don’t wear it for them.. rather, we wear it four ourselves. Appreciation from others is nice, but not necessary though it does remind us of how much we truly love our unique and special pieces.
Where you find your fashion pieces is always a story as well- a memory and an energy. It is why you love it so much, after all. It is marvelous.
I have many power pieces that I like to wear on a regular basis, wearing whichever one feels best for any specific day. Some I share, some I keep just for myself. But this is one I feel a duty to share- it’s too fabulous and there are definitely ones intended for others to find for themselves. You know when you see something and think, oooh- that is definitely for…. ! ..it might be yourself, it might be a friend; that is how I feel about LOVEMADDS collections.
Each piece has a story to tell, whether it has an actual meaning or simply looks like a dream; each piece is powerful and designed with someone in mind.

This necklace and bracelet was given to me as an *absolutely amazing* gift that just blew me away- wow. I love them so much, and the grand thing is that they all have unique factors that remind me of dear childhood memories. Most of these items are very subtle- you actually cannot even see one of the charms in any of these photos, but it is very well placed, beautiful- and meaningful to me and I know it is there. That is all that matters.
Fun part of that is when I wear my hair in a glamorous updo, only someone with a good eye will notice this hidden little charm- but they will appreciate it when they do see it (and I will love it regardless).
Everything falls into place beautifully, and I love how it moves as I walk. It has that one-of-a-kind feeling too when you pick it up or put it on, something photographs don’t capture anywhere near the reality. It is something you must experience for yourself.

Take a look at her ever growing fabulous collections and see for yourself- you will be delighted you did
Another Reason To Love Armani In 09
March 6, 2009

Sophisticated, sultry, and elegant- Armani’s name carries a certain grace I have always adored. And no matter the design, the fabric is always heavenly against the skin and fitted wonderfully.
I am always anxious to see the new designs, and leading London’s personal stylist, Gabrielle Teare, never disappoints to keep me informed on the latest. I am delighted to have these images from her as well.
Now, normally I am not a particular fan of women’s business coats or jackets. Something about them can be so ill-fitted and unflattering to a women’s body. They generally strike me as rigid and uncomfortable. But this jacket with its one well placed button and sharp low drop neckline intrigues me and even has me wanting one for myself.
I love how it hugs the figure while still being just lose enough with a flow in movement. It is all about the lines, and when you pair up a matching hat, handbag, and gloves the look is simply heavenly!
Personally, I would wear the jacket with a well formed pencil skirt- I think it would flow so nicely and keep to the feminine form. But the colors here are fabulous.

Who doesn’t love an outfit that just melts with sparkles? Again, Armani has me rethinking looks I normally wouldn’t care for myself. Those who know me know that I am always in a dress in heels- quite seriously always. But, this look seems like fabulous fun. It works, and works well. The hint of nude kept elegant and the insanely detailed and gorgeous collar that melts into the ensemble quite literaly is stunning. The lines and flow of movement is beautiful. Definitely would make for a grand cocktail party, gloves included naturally.
So, wow- two looks with generally a masculine feel still keeps its femininity. I love that. It is playfully modern with a bit of that old glamour feel at the same time. I am inspired and definitely have some ideas running through my mind.
Bringing in the New Year Like Tinkerbell
December 31, 2008
No, you haven’t gone mad- I did say tinkerbell. It is new year’s eve and I think it is time for a little fun and glamour- and color and shine it is for me this year.
Green, shiny, and yellow- really? Sounds horrible but looks lovely on this gorgeous little dress. Make no doubt, this is definitely an occasion dress- whether you want it to be or not; it will make an occasion for you. I love making every day an occasion, but this one brings it up to a new level.

It is light and just flows off your skin- love the feeling! And the cut and style is beautiful- it makes me think of tinkerbell. Not so much in a Halloween costume sort of way, but in a glamorous and cute style. This is a dress that makes you smile- yellow definitely does that for me. And I love to wear yellow, it is just so cheery and pretty. The bottom of this dress is beautiful, too- the way it cuts down revealing different fabrics, textures, and colors- very playful.

We are about to start a new year and I say bring it in with bright vibrant colors, make it a theme, make it a character- make it enjoyable and make it your own. You want to start the new year feeling you best and dressing your best will do it. Bring it in this year with style and luxury.

Glamour of Vintage Earrings
December 6, 2008

One of the things I love about vintage is you really feel each piece has its own story. You get a sense that it has seen the world and been a part of so many special events, enriching the lives of its owners, and that now it is your turn to contribute.
It is one of a kind and very special. These earrings I have recently come upon absolutely have this factor.
There is something to be said of jewelry, or any item really, that has a story and sense of empowerment; it is like when you are a child and you are wearing your mother’s jewelry. It doesn’t matter what age you are, it is still something you treasure and can still do to empower your day even more. I dare you not to smile when you wear something of such significance to you.
Bring something out from a treasured past memory- or find something someone has left behind to be moved on to new memories. It is much more than a fashion statement.

Elegant Pony Tail With A Vintage Touch
December 3, 2008

A simple pony tail alone done correctly can be an elegant masterpiece, however when dressed up just right, it can be an even greater one. In my love of hats, I decided to bring out another piece that I am very fond of.
It is an elaborate pink bow with berry like strands and leave twigs tangled throughout it keeping its shape. The outside shell shape resembles something of a butterfly and rests perfectly on the head. I like to use this darling little hat as the elaborate bow it appears to be- making any simple pony tail an extravagant one.

I love this thing! I was delighted when I discovered it and now I only want more of the same. Honestly it seems pretty simple to construct yourself, given you wish to spend the time. May turn out to be quite the inspiration for fashion creativity not to mention a one of a kind piece.
I have another hat similar that is covered in flowers- holds the same butterfly shape, but it just isn’t the same as this one. Something about the bow and subtlety of the berries and leaves that make this one extra fabulous and unique.

A Hat of Vintage Love
December 1, 2008

I love hats, and I have come up with quite a collection- my favorite being vintage ones. This one is a fun and classic sort of style in a soft shade of brown. A great color for almost any season, really- it works year round and is delightful to wear.
Spring and winter seem to be my favorite times to bring them out and wear them- fall is delightful, too- it just seems after the hot summer months I am not yet ready for them. But right now with the cool breeze outside- it is a lovely time for darling hats such as this one.

Overall this hat is round and simple, but then it has the bunched up collection of fur pieces all together on one side at an angle. It gives the hat a grander appearance and that delicate yet modern feel. All I need to really bring it up another notch would be to have a matching coat or shall- I am in search! I have some close looking items, especially in material and style, but not at all quite that color. Oh well, for now it is quite fun on its own!

Gorgeous Gloves To Love
November 25, 2008

The coolness in the air means I can finally bring out those lovely winter accessories I have been anxious to wear. It is just cool enough to play with little bits of accessories and not yet to the point of freezing and being hidden inside a large coat!
For now I will enjoy this lovely weather and indulge in my collection of accessories, gloves being a rare delight that I am finally having the opportunity to wear.

I love the delightful details so many of the glove designs offer- like these pastel yellow gloves with the delicately placed jewels. The cashmere material feels luxurious against your skin, too- which I love. Though they may not look at it, these little gloves can be quite toasty.

And then of course there is the classic- the white kid leather gloves. I cannot get enough of these, I adore them! This particular pair is lined in silk and just melts to your skin. When people say something fits like a glove, I always think of these especially. They are such a luxurious item!
Any excuse I can come up with to wear them and I will, without hesitation. They truly a lovely gem. It makes me want to dress around the gloves- hairstyle inspirations included. Maybe a nice broach as well. Hmmm, ideas are coming to me- more on them later.

Elegance in Vintage Beauty
November 24, 2008
I love vintage- it has such a charming feel to it as well as that one of a kind factor. During my recent travels I found myself very fortunate to come across this beauty of a set.
Not since I was a child playing with my mother’s jewelry have I seen something or had something like this- everything about it I love.
The colors, the cuts, the shine, the uniqueness and simplicity manifested into something so great- I am so happy with this new piece alone- not to mention the beautiful pieces that came along with it.

Now this is one gorgeous cocktail ring, and a beautiful match. This along with the bracelet it came with below are absolutely pretty and fabulous. I am so delighted!

It was completely unexpected, too- during our drive up to a vineyard in Washington, we stopped for a quick bite to eat. It was this charming little shopping area consisting mostly of bookstores and specialty shops. While deciding where to eat, a friend and I stepped into a store that had caught her eye. I naturally followed as my curiosity is always high. I fell in love with this darling little shop, the moment I saw this set it was love.
I found some other gems, too- but perhaps that is for a later time. I think these pieces are so beautiful by themselves and should be viewed as such.
