Attack Of The Spring Print Dress
April 8, 2009

Looking outside the window today it is just gorgeous, the sun is shining and there is a refreshingly cool breeze in the air- nothing too chilly, very comfortable in fact. With Easter just around the corner, I felt inspired to wear a bright and frilly spring dress.
Now, prints and floral designs can be very loud especially when on an incredibly flowy or frilly dress. Having said that, meet- the attack of the floral spring dress!

This is one of the pieces I picked up from forever twenty one, something about it caught my eye ( I know, how can you miss it?) and when I tried it on I had to have it. It is the way it moves- one of those dresses you just want to spin and twirl all day in. Very fun and very cheery. With spring and Easter in mind, this dress is just the attitude I am looking for.
Definitely a love it or hate it type of piece, but hey- sometimes its nice to feel like a child again (or maybe even just a doll).
Its a sunny day and I am having fun with it. After a couple cool days and look back into winter, I am welcoming back spring in full force.

Cute In The Kitchen Fashion
December 22, 2008

Who ever said that being in the kitchen meant you couldn’t be fashionably cute? Bah, I say to such nonsense. It can be quite inspiring and all the more fun.
I remember as a child watching my mother and my auntie cooking in the kitchen before a big event- their hair would be up, possibly in an updo or just up and pretty and out of the way. It looked so elegant, that was for sure. And always, always, always- an adorable apron!

My auntie wore this white sheer-like ruffled one that was glamorous and most likely hardly designed for actual use. But of course she used it, she was always so glamorous wherever she went, home included- and it would get messy as the cooking continued. She would have it dry cleaned and then begin again. It was important to her to look and feel her best. My mother’s hair was short, but she would have it curled and pretty- and of course have a beautiful apron on.
Now am I saying to wear a gown, heels, and elaborate hairstyle while cooking? No.. I am just saying to have a little fun and fashionable spirit as you work. For me it is an apron- I wish to find one like my auntie’s one day, but in the meantime I have some cute ones to keep me entertained. Like this one I am wearing today- it may not be a full one but it does the job just lovely.

Today I have spent pretty much the entire day in the kitchen baking some delicious cakes. Dressing up and feeling cute puts more love into my baking and I enjoy the time all the more so. It is like a special occasion, even if it is just baking in my home. The colors and ruffles of this adorable and fashionable apron help to keep me motivated and going. How can you not feel cheery wearing something so bright and happy?
It makes cooking an even more enjoyable experience for me, and I do love to cook! I think next on my list may be a fashionable oven mitt- that could certainly be inspiring. I am still on the quest for an apron like the one I remember growing up with, but it won’t stop me from having fun until then.
